Welcome to our transition page for 2018. Transition simply means moving from Y6 to Y7. 

Starting a new school is an exciting time. At Sale High School we pride ourselves on our transition process. Once your application has been accepted we will start to work with you and your child to ensure the journey to Sale High School is as smooth as possible.

What happens next?

Primary School Visit

Mr Scully, Assistant Headteacher - KS3/4 Achievement and Transition will be visiting the primary schools to introduce himself and inform pupils what will be happening over the next few months.

Transition Evening 
28 June 2018  
5:30pm

Parents are invited to attend transition evening one week prior to Y6 transition day. During this session parents/carers will be given an information pack to complete at home which Y6 will then be required to return the following week when they attend transition day.

There will be numberous presentations from our Headteacher and other members of the Senior Leadership Team. Parents will then meet in smaller groups and have the opporuntiy to speak to teaching and support staff.

Transition Day

8:30am - 3:00pm

Y6 students who have accepted a place with SHS will come and spend the day in school, meet some of our teachers and students and get a feel for the school. Transition day is the same date for all High Schools. Parents do not need to inform their current primary school that their child will be absent. Pupils should wear their primary school uniform.

Your first day at school

You will spend the morning with your form tutor and take a tour around the school. You will receive your planner, timetable and other information you will need before you start your lessons in the afternoon.

Team building week
October 2018

New Y7 students will take part in an activity packed week during the first half term. Students will learn how to work together as a team and take part in a wide range of exciting and memorable activities. The week will culminate in whole year excursion off campus where they will be able to put their new skills in to practice.
