Sale High School Open Event 30th Sept 2021

We are very excited to invite you to our Open Evening on Thursday 30th September 2021. You will be able to listen to a presentation from our Head Teacher Ms O’Grady, have a tour of the school and speak to some of our existing students. Due to current circumstances and for everyone’s safety, this will be a ticketed event.

Message from Ms J O’Grady:

Dear parents and carers,

We are very much looking forward to welcoming you to our Open Evening. I am writing to give you some further details for the event.

As you will know, access to the event is by ticket only. We have strict quotas due to fire and other health and safety regulations that we must follow regarding numbers of visitors on site. Therefore, admittance will only be given to individuals who have a ticket at that booked time.  We will not be able to give admittance to any additional visitors- including additional children-  on the evening. Please do not request this as my staff are governed by strict guidelines and we do not want to make anyone feel awkward or out in a difficult position. Thank you!

You will be given a wristband and are asked to wear it. We hope the children (and you!) find this fun! This is also to help us ensure we have the right ‘sitting ‘ of visitors on site at one time and we can maximise the chances for people to visit us.

Parking is EXTREMELY tight at school. Please do not park on Croft or Norris Road. These are narrow roads and we invariably see congestion, which just slows everyone down and causes issues.  We have some very, very limited parking on site. This will follow a one-way system and staff in hi vis jackets will help you park. We have a tight turnaround at the end of each session, which could result in congestion around the site and delays. For all these reasons, it would be ideal if families could walk rather than drive. If you cannot, please car share or be dropped off away from the site. Thank you!

Each of our three sessions lasts one hour. Visitors are asked to come into school on the Norris Road entrance near the dining hall- stewards will direct you. My Head teacher’s speech will take place in the hall for the last 10-15 minutes of each session and you will have a chance to hear from the students too! There will be limited time for questions at the end- but I am always happy to respond to any queries sent in to school.

This is our first ‘in person’ Open Evening since the pandemic. I hope you understand why we are having to put these measures in place. We are just really happy we have an opportunity to hold such an event!

We are really looking forward to meeting you and although this is a somewhat ‘curtailed’ evening we are working hard to make sure it is a good one!

Take care

Ms J O’Grady

Headteacher
