Careers Education, Information, Advice and Guidance

At Sale High School we recognise the importance of high-quality careers education and guidance in motivating and inspiring young people and helping them to make informed choices about their future pathways and careers. We understand that careers education and guidance is an integral strand of a young person’s education and is crucial in raising aspirations and helping pupils emerge from school more fully rounded and ready for the world of work. Young people want and need to be well-informed when making subject and career decisions. Careers education and guidance is the responsibility of all stakeholders and should involve staff, students, parents and employers.

The designated careers lead for Sale High School is Mr J Williams, Deputy Headteacher.

To speak to someone about our Careers provision at Sale High, please phone the main school number on 0161 973 2713 and ask for Mr J Williams or email jwilliams@salehighschool.org.uk

Our independent careers advisors are from Trafford Connexions, and they provide impartial advice and guidance. They are based in the school’s Connexions office and are available on Monday, Tuesday and Thursday each week. Students can drop in at lunch or breaktime to make an appointment.

A careers interview is a confidential conversation. Parents can arrange to attend these appointments by contacting our careers advisors at careersadvisors@salehighschool.org.uk

Access to records of careers and enterprise experiences

We hold detailed records of student participation in careers events and activities, and employer encounters on Compass+, an online planning and monitoring tool provided by the Careers and Enterprise Company. Pupils or parents/carers can request a copy of their individual participation record at any time by dropping into the Connexions office and speaking to our careers advisors, or by emailing jwilliams@salehighschool.org.uk or info@salehighschool.org.uk.
