Welcome from the Headteacher

Sale High School is a high-performing, ambitious and inclusive secondary school. Our high expectations for all members of our community are driven by our core values of Aspiration, Resilience and Achievement. Situated in the highly selective Trafford borough, we provide students with an excellent and inclusive alternative to the selective system.

By offering a broad and ambitious curriculum, underpinned by a strong emphasis on character development, we support students to become well-rounded individuals. This approach equips them with the knowledge, skills and values needed to successfully transition to the next stages of their education and to lead fulfilling, successful lives.

Our values of Respect, Diversity and Community are central to creating a strong culture of belonging. We actively welcome all students and provide a wide range of support to ensure every individual can thrive. Our inclusive ethos is reflected in our most recent Ofsted inspection (December 2024), which recognised that:

  • ‘Pupils enjoy coming to Sale High School. They are part of a friendly and welcoming community. Pupils are happy here and feel valued.’
  • ‘The school swiftly identifies the needs of pupils with special educational needs and/or disabilities (SEND).’
  • ‘Pupils receive strong support for their mental health and emotional wellbeing. They develop positive relationships with each other and with staff.’

We are proud to be part of United Learning, a group of schools committed to providing an excellent education for children and young people across the country. As a member of United Learning, we are dedicated to improving life chances and fulfilling our mission to bring out ‘the best in everyone’—students, staff, parents and the wider community.

The school is also part of the DfE Rebuild Programme and is currently in the planning stages of an exciting redevelopment, which will further enhance our learning environment and support our continued growth and success.

Whether you are a parent or carer seeking an excellent education for your child, or a professional looking to develop in your career, we hope that what you read inspires you to find out more about Sale High School.
