Work Experience 2016

Did you know that your child has the opportunity to take part in a one week work experience placement this year?  Did you also know that they need to be finding themselves a placement right now?

You will need to complete a parental consent form for your child by Tuesday 8 February 2016.

They will also need to return a completed self-placement form (completed by the organisation offering them the placement) to school by Thursday 2 April 2016.

Students will be given all the forms to complete but additional copies can be printed out from this website or collected from Mrs O'Brien in the school library.  The key dates are below.

Please do all you can to help your child find the right placement and hand the forms in before the deadline.

Summer School

We are delighted that you have accepted your child’s place at Sale High School and are delighted to share details of our Summer School with you.

Summer School will run for 1 week during the Summer Holidays and we will confirm the date and send out booking information to Y6 Parents as soon as it is confirmed. This is exclusive to Y6 children starting at Sale High School in September and has proved an invaluable experience for children who have attended in the past. During the week children will have the opportunity to get involved in lots of school based activities from cooking and PE to orienteering and Art. By attending Summer School children also have the chance to explore the school, find out where their form room will be, meet some of their teachers and get to make friends with other children who will be in their Year group.

Summer School runs from 10am until 2pm and children will be required to bring a packed lunch.

In previous years Summer School was funded by the Department for Education but unfortunately the Government has now cut this money. Due to this loss of funding the cost for the week will be charge which includes a morning and afternoon snack, the cost will be sent out with the booking information once dates are confirmed.

  • Year 7 Transition
  • Inter House Competitions & Student Rewards

Sale High school rewards its students for a variety of achievements through the house point system. Students carry with them a house point collection card, which is stamped when students have displayed behaviour, work or attitude deserving of merit.

The top boy and girl in each form each week receive a queue jump pass. This allows the student to move to the front of their year group queue at lunch time.

The top boy and girl from each form over each half term are placed into a draw.  A draw is held in each of the end of term assemblies where one lucky boy and girl receive a £10 Trafford Centre voucher.

Students representing the house that has accumulated the most amount of house points over the half term period are treated to an “own clothes day”.

Students representing the house that has accumulated the most house points over the full term are treated to a delicious breakfast redeemable at the school dining rooms with their winning ticket.

Students representing the house that has accumulated the most house points over the entire academic year are able to experience both the own clothes day and the free breakfast. However, more importantly, they are presented with the coveted House Champions trophy, proudly displayed in the Pastoral Office.

The top 20 students in each house, who have collected the most house points and satisfy the behaviour, attendance and punctuality criteria are invited to a day out at Alton Towers.

    Inter House competition

Sale High School operates a house system which encourages healthy competition between students and staff alike. These inter-house events include fun department competitions each term as well as whole year sporting competitions. For the sporting events, each year group is allocated an afternoon where the entire year group either compete for or support their houses in these eagerly anticipated competitions.  News of our latest events are below:
