Sale High are pleased to announce that we have established a partnership with Manchester City Football club which sees us becoming one of their Associate Schools and the first such school in Trafford.  This relationship has a number of benefits for our students, the school and MCFC.

As part of the arrangement Sale High School students will have the opportunity to access enrichment activities through the Club such as work experience, apprenticeships and tailor made educational programmes in business and enterprise.  Manchester City has also agreed to provide occasional reward tickets to our pupils in return for outstanding attainment, progress, behaviour and attendance.  The club are keen to make a difference to young people in the greater Manchester area and leave a social legacy of raised aspirations and high achievement.  Already the school has received over 30 tickets for home games at the Ethiad Stadium to use as rewards for students and the club have agreed to take the FA cup on a visit to Sale High in the New Year.

Deputy Head Mrs Chapple is working with Conrad Prendergast from MCFC to set-up a business awareness course for a number of Y9 students which will be delivered by MCFC staff at Sale High School and include students visiting the club to see how their multi-million pound organisation works.  Assistant Head Mr Fox is working with Mr Tom Flower from MCFC to launch the clubs ‘Strike a Balance’ programme on healthy eating and lifestyle to our partner primary schools.  This will involve Sale High School students visiting the primary schools with MCFC staff to deliver part of the course to the primary pupils and then helping to co-host a football tournament at Sale High School with the MCFC coaches for participating primaries.

Head Teacher, Lynn Nicholls, said of the link between the club and the school; “This is a tremendous opportunity for our students to work with one of the biggest football clubs in the world.  It will provide not only inspiration for our students but also real experience of how to be successful at the highest level.  It is a perfect match, Manchester City are a club who are clearly on the up and for whom nothing but the best is acceptable and this is a philosophy we share in providing an education to our young people.  We look forward to building upon our new relationship with the club to the benefit of all our students.”
