Higher Level Learners

Sale High School aims to:

  • To raise the achievement of our more able pupils, particularly those who are capable of achieving A*/A (7-9) grades who are currently working below this.
  • To raise aspirations of our pupils.
  • To improve confidence and life skills by offering pupils extra support and a range of enrichment activities.

The Higher Level Learners participate in activities throughout the year that aim to extend their learning and reach the high goals we know they can.

Elevator Science Pitch

On the 15 July 2013 year 10 students will participate in an 'Elevator Pitch' Science event. This event is intended to inspire students to consider completing Undergraduate and then Postgraduate Science courses at University.

The event will start with an introductory session when students will hear about PhDs and what doing a PhD is really like. Groups of children will then visit the PhD students in their elevator in turn, to hear and talk to them about their research projects. At the end of the event the students will come back together to vote on the projects presented and to facilitate a general discussion.

Join the NW Gifted & Talented programme for 'The Only Way is Ethics: Big Animal Debate. Learn how to ask questions about faiths and beliefs more sensitively, confidently and effectively. Investigate and form a debating team on the issues surrounding animal testing, whether or not we should eat animals and religious sacrifice. More more information, follow the link TOWIE
